Ok this is strange.. so i decided to try the other ac adapter the original one, if i twist the output slightly in a specific way the light comes on and works as required. It has to be manipulated a certain way for it to get any power. this does not explain why my new one off amazon does not work...

Thanks for this, i've just tried it and unfortuently it does not work. It works with the controller, but the light does not come on. My guess is the light has broken, this is now my 3rd Chihiros 901.... anyone else having similar problems?

I stopped using mine as it would regulary take too much air into the filter and then in turn it would suck the flowpipe downwards causingit to stick underwater! Several poor fish got sucked in!

I've had a long battle with bad BBA outbreak i left un-attended for some time, im finally beating it by spot dosing, filter maintenance more regular and two SAE's. I'm now keeping it at bay!

Hi, The water temp is 23c, yes i bought them off Hogan from the forum. The BBA has been in the tank for years, in a low tech environment. I'll crank up the co2 a bit more and see where we get to. Thanks,

Feel your pain Ian, I stopped dosing for a few weeks. Staurgyne carpet died off and I guess it caused an algae bloom, had bba ever since and I'm now fighting to get rid of it!

After a few weeks, cut the long stems and replant them into the substrate. The more you cut, the more it will grow sideways and create a tight carpet.

i would choose S Repens any day over Glosso, it looks so lush when a proper carpet is grown with it.easier to maintain and it doesnt uproot easily.

Not sure on dimensions but it's not big. I don't use ADA so can't comment. It's apparently down to poor plant health but my plants have been fine for the last year, so I don't think it's that. Could just be a build up of nutrients, co2 and anything else.

I have some of this growing on my wood and it looks great. Only issue is it's also growing on some granuals of gravel aswell.

Cheers Nath, no growth was great but I stopped dosing my ferts stupidly and lost 90% of the staurgyne repens so it's just recovered now! The java fern grows like wild fire I have to cut once a month.

Couple of update pics, everything growing well not had any algae apart from GSA. Unfortunately the ebi gold has leaked into the gravel thanks to my corys, the substrate dividers have helped as much as they could!

I have Mac but use it on my Windows side of the machine.
