    Chihiros - final decision help

Is the commander 4 not the same controller as in the vivid? If so you only need your phone to be in the bluetooth range of the light to actually program the light or turn the light on manually. Once you have programmed the light and set it in auto mode it turns on and off and runs the auto...

I have mine hung around 30cm above the tank and run it at 60% max. You can hang it as high or low as you like and adjust intensity pro rata but I find any lower maintenance is awkward and any higher the light over spill is more of a problem as my tank is sited next to the sofa. Here's another...

    Co2 injection in large tanks

Yes this is the problem with regards to flow. But as most off the shelf reactors seem to be in 12/16 pipework size. Maybe the smaller pipe is for increased pressure in the reactor to aid co2 desolving rates? So even thought the flowrate/ turnover through the reactor is less you will actually get...

    Flow in planted tanks

I think most of the filters they use in the larger tanks they have at least 1 of the Eheim 2080s. These have 2 inlets and 1 outlet and flow around 1700ltrs per hour. So the flow rate should be quite substantial I would think.

  79. Daveslaney

    Thoughts on spraybar direction

That would be my thoughts too. Fire all your outlets, powerhead etc towards the front glass and push the flow to wards the lower water levels that way. Or all on one side of the tank push the flow along the top to wards the other side of the tank to create a Gyre style flow.
  80. Daveslaney

    Thoughts on spraybar direction

No this is the reasons sumps use surface inlets, with enough redundancy space in the sump, so if the pump stop for whatever reason it will only empty the water from the tank to the bottom of the inlet close to the water surface and the sump shouldn't overflow? With the bottom inlets like in your...
