Solufeed 2:1:4 and Solufeed Sodium Free TEC or Solufeed Coir TEC Combination

Anyone else having problems with the Solufeed site, don’t seem to be able to make payment unless involving paypal

Hi everyone. I am in Dubai and trying to find something similar. Unfortunately KNO3 is banned and other dry stuff.

I found this i just wanted to know if i can use it.

Data sheet for the version two

And if someone can help with which fertilizer i can use for Macro similar to Solufeed 2:1:4
Here is a few website i can buy fertilizer here in UAE
1. Tradecorp AZ Chelated Micronutrient - Buy Online in UAE|Green Souq UAE

you can use either one of the Micros, But I would go with the Tradecorp AZ and you can decide weather you want to keep the Micros and Macros separate in their own solution. I also Recommend using Distilled water for solutions. we can add Magnesium to your aquarium during water changes if needed, its excluded from the recipes because its usually covered at water changes.

Thank you soo much @Happi. Can I trust these KNO3 & KH2PO4nce it’s not food grade? Also can I use this brand instead for the EDDHA ultraferro - Tradecorp | Australia

My last two questions is there a need to use potassium sulphate?
And were do I get a calculator you used from.

Again thanks for the quick response.

they are ok for our purpose

both are same thing, get either one.

not needed if using KNO3
And were do I get a calculator you used from.
I use Mathematics Formula

its composition is
1708597295245.png
and Solufeeds 2:1:4 is
1708597413630.png
So it's the same, IMO its solufeeds 2:1:4 that's been purchased in bulk and repacked. It works out at twice the price of buying a 20Kg bag of Solufeeds 2:1:4 per Kilogram. But costing £10.45 per 1Kg its cheaper than 1Kg pack of the Solufeed 2:1:4 £14.00
Nice find
Use it at the same dose as advised by the IFC calculator for your target ppms or posts on this forum

by now I believe many hobbyist are using this, can anyone share more picture updates on this?

has anyone tried this with the following:

100% RO water Mineralized to Calcium 10 ppm and Magnesium 4 ppm

then

weekly dose:

N 3 (1.4 Urea-N, 1.62 NO3-N) this will add 7.18 ppm NO3, Rest of the N from Urea
P 0.6
K 5.3
Fe 0.335
Mn 0.08454
Cu 0.01
B 0.0375
Zn 0.057
Mo 0.006438
Mg 0.38

What brand are these ppms?

Great information thank you @Happi great read 👍

I'm planning to order both these solufeed to test them myself for my 20g and small nano.

My worries are my water parameters which is really high in nitrate(30ppm) from my water report which I've attached.

Would you be able to to help me with a recipe similar to apt zero/1 as I would like to minimize nitrate(not add any at all as I think I'm highly stocked on fish now and would like to get my RRFTs red)

Once again thx for all this information, seems to be so much cheaper in the long run

Hi all,
Would you be able to to help me with a recipe similar to apt zero/1 as I would like to minimize nitrate(not add any at all as I think I'm highly stocked on fish now and would like to get my RRFTs red)
You would need to use an <"Aquarium fertiliser">, because they are the <"only "fertilisers""> that don't include nitrogen (N) or phosphorus (P). You can't use the Solufeed 2 : 1 : 4 mix.

You can use an aquarium calculator <"Nutrient Dosing Calculator"> to get levels of other nutrients (from dry salts) and use the Solufeed TEC etc. for the micro-elements.
My worries are my water parameters which is really high in nitrate(30ppm) from my water report which I've attached.
Initially I'd just make up the microelement solution (@Happi recipe below), dose that and see what happens. Basically the <"plants can't lie">.

If you don't have acceptable plant growth? Add in some of the Solufeed 2 : 1 : 4 mix.

I'd concentrate on getting the plants growing initially, once they are growing well (<"all of the essential nutrients are plant available">) you can muck about with leaner dosing etc.
Add 5.721 gram Solufeed Sodium Free TEC and mix till fully dissolve

Step #5
after mixing all the chemicals, add distilled water to reach the 500 ml solution

20 ml per 50 gallon (189.3 Liter) dose will add the following*:

Fe 0.11166
Mn 0.02818
Cu 0.003446
B 0.0125
Zn 0.019
Mo 0.002146
Mg 0.1266
You might have to dose additional <"chelated iron"> (Fe), (and possibly magnesium (Mg)), purely because of the <"hard and calcium (Ca) rich"> nature of your tap water.

* it will be less than these values because you won't have the addition from the Solufeed 2 : 1 :4.

cheers Darrel

@Happi, are any of the recipes on #88 comparable to TNC Complete? I've almost finished my current bottle, so looking for a cheaper, like-for- like alternative and they sound pretty easy to make. Thanks in advance!

Recipe #3
60 liter aquarium (combined Recipe)
1000 ml, 20 ml dose
10 ml White Vinegar
0.5 gram potassium sorbate
3.63 gram Solufeed Sodium Free TEC
20 gram Solufeed 2:1:4

N 1 (Urea-N 0.466 ppm, NO3-N 0.54 ppm) this adds about 2.4 ppm NO3, Rest of the N is from Urea
P 0.2
K 1.766
Fe 0.11166
Mn 0.02818
Cu 0.003446
B 0.0125
Zn 0.019
Mo 0.002146

it depends on what you are trying to compare. but it look something like this when compared side by side:

Modified Version:
add these to Recipe #3
21.62 gram KNO3
15.54 grams K2SO4

Note: Additional Mg is not added in the Modified version when compared to TNC because Mg is usually covered during GH boosters or Mineralization.
