Journal The Green Dream _ My Cryptocoryne infested riparium

Any of it! How did you build up the “bank?” Is it stone? Wood? Foam?
Thanks for the appreciation! The 'land part' is basically purfoam with a thick coloured epoxy resin.

All of it would be great to see, especially the waterfall build!
Fantastic tank incidentally!
Thanks Wookii! Apreciated!
The riparium has 4 waterfalls and 3 have internal tubings.

Here are a few building pics. Will upload more soon ;)

Looking forward to seeing them.

Is this just expanding foam that you have carved to shape? What did you use to carve it?

Yes it is Wookii. Plain expanding foam. Then i carved it just with a plain sharp potato knife and broke some pieces of it.
Some people use a small torch but thats stupid since the foambubbles still contains gas sometimes...
Then i covered it with 5/6 layers of epoxy resin.

First pics i have from the tank with my old one next to it.

Ugh.... C. Flamingo had a nice start from his invitro tub but unfortunally things are going not so good now for the little guy :(

So today i got a bunch of new crypts and they are looking good.
The plants are grown emersed so this will be cool to see the new emersed leaves poppin' up in due time.

Species i got:

C. Parva
C. Wendtii 'tropica'
C. Costata
C. Purpurea
C. Petchi 'pink'

The left one with the veigns is the Petchi 'pink' and just to the right of it the costata which is slightly pinkish. Behind that one are several other costatas who are green. Its always a gamble what colour the costata will become. Yellow/orange-ish/brown or green. Also the patterns of the leaves can be different. Cool plant.

From the top the petchii looks really pale. Hoping to see some nice colour in a few weeks :)

On the right side i have a new c. Purpurea. Leaves are wavy at the moment and i hope the will get that particular hammered pattern like the one i had 5 years ago in this tank.

New one:

And finally i planted a small field of the c. Wendtii 'tropica'.
Hope this one will look hammered and wrinkled in due time. I also hope it will flatten out on the ground but i don't think i have enough light for that. We will see ;)
Atm it looks nothing really special hehe...

The parva's are scattered all over the tank to fill things up.

Tomorrow ill make for the new ones some special ferts :)

Today i made a bunch of capsules containing my own mixture of powdered clay and fe(dtpa).
Tomorrow ill add them to the new plants.
Im sure they will appreciate it :)

Its been only a few days but already some things are noticeable with the new plants. The petchii pink is lowering more and more its leaves and the costata is getting more colour and patterns on its leaves.

The wendtii tropica is also getting more darker patterns on its leaves with a massive red veign in the middle. The stem are also getting more red.

The fields of parva ... mwa. It seems like a magnesium/iron deficiency. But they already looked like this when i got them.
I added some extra osmocote by the roots as well some clay with dtpa iron.
Lets see how it goes from here since they are also notorious for having a setback when just planted. Had them couple of years ago but it didnt go well.

Tweaked my fertz regime over the years so lets see what is going to happen now.
