I saw the great man himself in the late 1970s when he was living in Nottingham? He'd just had a hit with "Contact" and it has re-vitalised his career.

I had the pleasure of seeing the pogues in the summer of 87 at Wembley stadium (they were the support act for U2) Shane's stage presence and energy at that gig is still burnt into my memory, even though it was 36yrs ago.

Small nugget of useless info: U2 walked out on stage to "A Rainy night in Soho" several times during their 2017 Joshua Tree tour.
Bono and Johnny Depp also did a cover of said song. (See, I told you it was useless info)
