There could be more than one reason, but if the leaves dry out they are likely to go black and crusty.is there a common reason for Java fern leaves turning black n crusty? I'm guessing there could be a 101 reasons?
If your black/brown spots are situated on underside of leaves, they are probaply just spore-houses. This is the fern's way of doing "seeds".I've got black/brown spots on loads of my Java Ferns. Can the colour be mended and go back to green?
pond snails
Hi Bruce,I don't really know my snails all that well. ( None of them will talk to me.) I was told years ago that snails don't bother Java Fern but I came to realize that wasn't the case.
