I'm not experienced in this aquascapeing but I'm having the same problem, my best idea is that my flow is less than a 5th of what it should be. Ferts and co2 are not reaching this part of the tank, don't know how your set up works but maybe the same problems as me ?
Hope this helps

It's really difficult to tell, but flow and distribution of CO2 and nutrients is always a safe bet for improvement.
And/or on the other hand the glassy appearance of the leaves in the 2nd pic may indicate a deficiency in iron.
To be able to give a better diagnosis, I guess we need more info on dosing regime and flow etc and how old your setup is.

My guess is they are just planted. They are adjusting and starting to grow.
Currently there are not enough roots and leaves to gather large amount of nutrients.
So the plants have to sacrifice some of the old leaves to create new ones.
Some small patches won't survive.

Comparing the growth from the start until last week, it seems it had been good.
So I think may be it's because you reduced the light. I figure some algae
in initial period is normal. I would just wait until plants have a good hold
to the substrate then I would introduce algae crews.

Sorry didn't recognise the scape at first...I agree with xim, it's still relatively early days and some melt is still to be expected. I had similar, especially with soil dust settling on plant leaves. It's just a matter of patience and perseverance; I'm sure you'll win through in the end.

The melting continues slowly but steadily...probably with some growth as well.

I have decreased the light intensity from 55% to 45% but I am unsure if this is correct or not because the plants might be melting due to insufficient light or due to high light....have no clue though at the moment.

Is it normal to be 2.5 weeks into the scape and the monte carlo still adjusting? Because if it should have adjusted by now it means its melting due to insufficient light!

Algae and melting is an indication of way too much light for the level of CO2 and fertilisation. Your TMC tiles are very capable of vaporising plants very easily if not controlled.

Most people start the TMC1500 tiles at 10-20% for first couple of weeks, while their plants "bed in" and they fiddle to get their CO2 flow and distribution sorted. (and fiddle with fertilisers).

You are using Tropica Specialised, but that is N & P & micro and as your are using CO2 you will also probably need a supply of potassium.

If using CO2, EI is the fertilisation way to go, you are not paying 99% premium for Tropica water this way.

I think this kit will make about 24litres (12macro, 12micro) of fertiliser. Thus 500ml costs 40p, add and nice 500ml pump bottle (Ebay 60p) and you have almost the same as Tropica for £1 a bottle. Done.

So 45% in week 3 should be fine?

Also are you sure about the Tropica? I think it contains NPK...

Try 20% for a start for say 4 hours light period, it is very very very unlikely your plants will be suffering from too little light. As things settle down and you crack CO2 flow & distribution (and ferts) increase light level and time.

Many people have grown HC (slowly) using ye olde dim T8 tubes, but have got CO2 and ferts spot on, so I severely doubt lack of light is an issue.
