Hi,

Which is better to use in Macro or Micro Mixes, 99% Acetic Acid or Distilled White Vinegar (5% Acetic Acid)?

99.5% Acetic Acid is called Glacial Acetic Acid, no longer in the vinegar category.
Am I okay with the typical household stuff, the Distilled White Vinegar (5% Acetic Acid)?
I can also find some 20% Acetic Acid, or even 30-45% if that performs better.

Hi all,

Yes. You don't need it in your macro-mix.

cheers Darrel
Does it matter if the distilled white vinegar is made from Sugar Cane or Corn?

We have a local brand of Sugar Cane Distilled White Vinegar.
On the other hand, we have Heinz Corn Distilled White Vinegar which costs like 4x more.

Thats not true... for Bourbon its gotta be maize (at least 51% corn).

Cheers,
Michael
lol
but would you agree, that for micro mix, it doesnt matter if the vinegar is from sugar cane or corn?

Cheers,
Harris

I don’t know much about vinegar, but CH3CH2OH is alcohol regardless of how it is derived… and I am sure Darrel is right when it comes to vinegar as well.

Cheers,
Michael
