Staurogyne repens problems

FYI do not trust drop checkers, they have some serious issues, particularly if you need to go above 30 ppm. Yellow is yellow, does not really tell you that much or is that precise.

I suggest pH and a meter.
See the pH/Kh table and adjust from there.

At least that way you have a good relative reference, even if the KH has other alk than bicaronates.
So you can check and make adjustments very carefully.
 
Yes agree totaly about the dropchecker as in my tank it is yellow before the end of the lighting period and the livestock are behaving in a normal manner.I am refering to the dropchecker a lot less now watching plants and livestock a lot more.Thanks for your advice much appreciated.Cheers mark
