Difficult to keep in prime condition!
However a lot of these exotic plants cost less than a bunch of flowers and will last at least twice as long!
That’s for sure, only £9.00. I leave the plants to my wife, she somehow has the knack. All our plants seem to thrive on healthy neglect.

I only have a couple small peace lily's, I want a decent sized plant in the living room that's easy to grow and doesn't cost a fortune, any idea's would be appreciated as I'm not clued up on house plants.

@PARAGUAY How are suspending the plant in the aquarium? I want to try something similar.

@FrozenShivers believe it or not your small peace lily could grow quite large, depending on cultivar. The one below was tiny, I think it came in a 4inch pot. A good few years later it stands over 3 feet tall and just as wide.

But there are so many to choose from. It’d be great if this thread gets going then it could be used as a source of ideas. But in the meantime this might help

Thank you! True I could repot one of them and put them in the living room, they're currently in my office/fish tank room so they grow purely from my aquarium light as my blinds are always closed 🙂

It's loosely on a piece of bogwood but the roots are growing through filter floss helping hold it ,it was originally a small plant placed in cheap plastic caddy hanging on glass edge of another aquarium, but moved it because (as it grew )of blocking light on the aquatic plants. So you can place on wood in the gaps ,gently thread root system through, thoroughly was soil off though

It's awesome to see all the different types people are growing – from lush greenery to funky cacti and everything in between.

One plant that caught my eye was the camphor tree -The Camphor Tree - Guide To Growing And Care – MK Library – super unique and adds a bit of spice to any collection. Plus, they're known for their aromatic leaves, which is a bonus! Does anyone here have experience with them? I'm curious to hear your thoughts!

Keep sharing your awesome plant pics – it's inspiring to see how everyone brings nature indoors in their own way. Happy planting!

I have found the self-watering pots, with, admittedly, the addition of extra medium (hydroponic clay pebbles) between the soil and the water reservoir, work really well with some types of plants.

This Calathea was bought small, split, and grown on until a bit too big for the domestic environment, rehoused with my son's primary school class, with an 8 foot banana plant, also grown, initially at home, to create a classroom jungle. He has a classroom watering monitor and the kids love ducking in and out of the foliage to get to the sink to wash their hands. I also set up a frogspawn tank each year adjacent to the 'jungle', which is also very popular with the kids, especially when the tadpoles are bigger and very greedy.

All houseplants fed in the growing season with Tomato feed. I know, I'm a simple man when it comes to fertilisation regimes.

Also, just a suggestion if anyone else has a light and buyer's regret, a 4 foot Nicrew light I bought some years ago and proved too dim for my aquarium, works a treat to get Pelargoniums and African Violets to bloom during the darkest 60 days of the year.

Might have a photo somewhere, give me time...
