What is the wattage of the bulbs?
What is the size of the tank?
Is the tank CO2 enriched?
How much flow rating is the tank receiving?
What is the nutritional input to the tank?
What is the stocking of the tank?

Based on the responses to these questions, you could easily have too much light and the answer to your original question would be: "No this is no good"

On the other hand, if the response to these questions are satisfactory, then the answer to your original question would be: "Yes, this is fine".

Any answer provided outside the context of responses to these questions would be pure speculation and would be at risk of being completely irrelevant.
