I don't know, but it definitely looks like an Eriocaulon species.

Ok a few guys I know have said this could be Syngonanthus vichada which it does look like.

Has anyone heard if Syngonanthus Bahia can also grow in emers?

I reckon high humidity will be key to growing these successfully out the water, you can see in the graph below that the humidity in the Bahia area of Brazil where these originate is consistently high throughout the year.

I think the average air temp is around 25°C.
