MTV-Kribs

Sorry to bother you again.
Are you happy with your fzone sodium bicarb ? How big is your tank . Plants and how long it last a tank ?
Do you have the 2l or 4l ? Thanks very much
No problem at all.
I've not used it for a year or more but I was really happy with it when I did. I keep meaning to set it up but focusing more on breeding corys at the moment.
I've got the 2l version.
I had it running very slowly (around 1 bubble every 2 seconds). At that rate a bottle lasted 8 - 9 weeks. I wasn't aiming for a specific CO² value and didn't have a drop checker but I wasn't looking for super fast growth as I only had mosses, buce and ferns.
Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Hi All,

Exciting news, for me at least as it's taken 3 nearly 4 months to achieve this but managed to spawn Osteogaster eques again.
This time it was a purposeful attempt to spawn them. No dry season was required only about 20x their body weight in blackworms, grindal worms and various other foods. I'd given up as the females were huge and had been showing spawning activity for a couple of months but the males were showing no interest. I was getting worried that such a prolonged period of high fat/protein food might be detrimental so decided to stop trying.
This weekend we had a significant atmospheric pressure drop accompanied by a significant amount of rain. This got the males excited so I started feeding heavily again and on Saturday evening they started spawning.
The first batch of eggs appeared to be mostly infertile. I'm wondering if this is the result of them being stored for such a long period. I know this is an issue with other species. If anyone knows it would be good to have this info although I don't know what I could change to improve fertility rates.

This is awesome. I love that even in our tanks, the fish are still connected with the Earth!
Good luck with the process!
