Nice lot of moss, agreed it doesn't look like Java moss, which is much "stringier". Have a look here:

A way of telling
Taxiphyllum spp. (like Java moss -
T. barbieri) from
Vesicularia sp. like Christmas Moss (
Vesicularia montagnei) is the texture of the fronds,
Taxiphyllum species feel really soft, but
Vesicularia spp. are much tougher and slightly "gritty".
Because your moss fronds are sticking out in the photo, and not semi-collapsed, a
Vesicularia sp. would be my guess as well.
