Journal JUNGLE PUDDLE: Dooa Mizukusa wall

I am a bit shy about launching my own journal compared to this, so I will put some questions here! (with apologies to OP)

I am finding the water level goes down really fast; I have a 60p tank, and it's almost 1cm/day, with misting on only 5 minutes every 30 minutes in the day, and a lot less over the night. I was thinking of an ATO? Is that sensible? I don't really know what the downsides are apart from potentially flooding my downstairs neighbours.
can't speak for this system, but i used an ATO on my saltwater tank and it worked great, the model i had was the D-D H2Ocean i believe. Really good for maintaining exact water level

Absolutely gorgeous tank Ady! Side note, is that a cement planter you're using for your tools? Going to copy that idea!

PS - I would have came and said hi to you at the Josh Sim meet if I'd realised it was you...next time!
Thank you.
Yes some concrete vases, just an Etsy purchase but thought they would be a good solution to hold and display. I added a some foam padding to the bottoms inside to set the height for long and shorter tools which also acts as a soft cushion for the scissor tips 🙌🏻
Always happy to say hi 👋🏻

I couldn't visualise it when you started this but looks amazing😍
Thanks, it’s a bit out there I guess, and difficult to see the vision from just the hardscape 👍🏻

Is the drip wall reservoir at the top deep enough to take a small heater laying down Ady?
Yes, it will take a small heater, a nice idea and one I hadn’t actually thought of. Only thing to consider would be being mindful of the heater on the plastic. I’ve added fish now that are happy at room temperatures so I won’t require one in this set up.

Amazing results @Ady34 . Do you have any other animal in the top section like Springtails etc?
On a general note, are land snails good for a Paludarium?
Hi,
No animals in the top section other than a persistent spider and the snail who is now MIA 😂
I didn’t add springtails here as there is no substrate and the emersed section is open so much easier to manage and maintain any failing plants with less chance of mould issues also.

Don’t feel shy, a journal is a great way of logging your own journey for reference. It also offers an ideal platform to ask specific questions which can help both yourself and other hobbyists.
As for the issue you have, ATO systems are a great way of maintaining constant water levels with most main brands being reliable.
I’m guessing your tank is also heated which will exaggerate the loss. My system is not heated so sits at room temperature and I lose approximately the same as you but over 2 days.

You know the drill, while we’re here 😁📷….

Recently I closed down a 60p scape and added some Paskai rainbowfish and some Galaxy rasbora from that system to this one. The paskai settled beautifully and seem to be loving this cooler slow moving set up. They really are stunning little fish:

Hi Ady,

I’ve tried reading through again to find out, what moss is being used on the back wall mate? If you remember.
Mainly Christmas moss with some Java spiky and weeping 🙌🏻
