Hi, I got this rather shabby looking Java Fern from my LFS.

It was beautiful when he first got but somehow it did not like the conditions at the shop and deteriorated over a number of weeks. Eventually it started throwing out new leaves however, as you can see from the pic, they are rather pale.

I am dosing EI and co2 and I have now had the plant for about 3 weeks with no major improvement.

Any ideas on what might be missing to get those leaves to grow nicely?

what EI are you dosing?

its massive, have you trimmed out some of the old leaves and given it a good thin out, if its got a decent rhizome, you can probably split it up as well.

Hi Nick, I took off as many of the dead / damaged leaves as I could. Some of the leaves have like melted corners on it.

Solution for EI is 1ltr. Macro is 206g of Potassium Nitrate and 44g of Mono Potassium Phosphate. I add 40ml three times a week and Micro is Plantex csm+b also three times a week.

Regards,
Michael

Hi Darrel, yes the leaves seem translucent on the edges...
