Is it necessary to buy special food for fish ?

Hey guys, does bristlenose pleco really need wood to live ? thx

My two young BN died for reason i don't know, they were really young, i also have corys which are fine, shrimps are thriving, weird

No, they are not among the wood eating plecos.
They may like browsing on it, but its not a dietary requirement like with the Panaque species.

The cause is likely to be elsewhere, I would continue looking

Thanks, can poor nutrition be the cause of it ? i founded tetra tabimin, looks like its mostly animal matter with a small bit of algae on a side, don't seems to be good for BN ?

For the new BN i made kind of diy algae wafer with fresh :

  • nettle leaves
  • apple
  • eggplant
  • Courgette
  • carrot
  • lettuce

i mixed it with wheat flour to keep all of it together, i cooked it, so far fish have really great colors, hope it is safe for them
