Help with Possible Faulty Nikkor 18-105mm [SORTED]

Hi all,

I just got this lens through from ebay, it apparently has VR (vibration reduction), when I flick the switch for VR between on & off, I see absolutely no difference, still just as shaky.

The VR is the main reason I bought this lens, it's in immaculate condition, and the seller said it's only 4 months old. I saw a video of the VR on the Nikkor 18-200mm on Youtube, and it made a huge difference! Which is what I want!

Is it possible the lens is faulty? I don't know what to do, and I don't know much about how it works either

Hi Paul,
Can you clarify the statement "I see absolutely no difference, still just as shaky."? What exactly did you do in order to compare one mode to the other?

With some VR lenses I think you have to be holding the shutter release half way to activate the VR. Are you doing that?
