Dry ferts use by date?

I used to use EI on my tank a few years ago, but have been out of the hobby about 4 years. Dug out all the dry powders, they look the same, but would anyone suggest they might have become ineffective over time? I would've though that as long as they were in a dry container they would be ok...

Macros, can't see why they age, they are just inorganic salts. Might absorb water and go solid, but so what, just add a bit more to your solution when mixing up.

Same for micros I suspect. Can't see why if kept dry and away from light how it could degrade. Will degrade in solution, by unchelating, and being exposed to light but dry power will be fine.

Yes you are good to go. They are fine.

Not quite. It is estimated the mean lifetime of the proton is around greater than 2.1 x 10^29 years, which is very very very very much considerably less than eternity.
