Hi all, I'm trying to lower my co2 slightly so I can start to add some shrimp to my tank, tank has been set up for four weeks now and has been blasted with co2 With the drop checker always being yellow.
Co2 is on at 4
Lights on at 6
Co2 off at 10
Lights off at 11.30
Iv lowered injection rate and My ph drops from 6.6 to 5.8 before lights on. And stays at 5.8 all evening, but my drop checker is still yellow from about 7pm !
Should I stop chasing drop checker colour and concentrate on getting that 1 degree ph drop before lights on?
My water is very soft where iam.
I'm just a farad of gassing shrimp!
Cheers

Hi Terry,
Yeah, that's a bit weird. The pH readings tell a more accurate story, but you still need to troubleshoot the DC. Are you using the same pH reagent in the DC as you are when you take the measurements?

Try cleaning out the DC using tap water or RO water if you are using that and reset the DC. What color is the DC at 4 O'Clock?

Cheers,

Hi Clive, thanks for your reply
I'm using a ph pen to take the readings.
Will give the checker a clean and report back tomorrow
