Would it beneficial to have one even though i am only dosing liquid CO2?

Hi,
No point in a DC for non-gas injected tanks. The DC cannot respond to the gluteraldehyde in the water column from liquid carbon products, it's just a pH test kit so only responds to acid. The steady state CO2 concentration near the top of the tank will be in the neighborhood of 8-10ppm.

A dc indicates residual levels of injected co2 gas within the water column - if you are only dosing liquid carbon the DC will not register anything.
