They showed up again on a suppliers list, and this time they got delivered. I currently have 5 of them in quarantine, with diamond tetras and a dwarf gourami.
They came very small, around 2~3cm. One of them was even smaller than the others and much thinner, I was sure it would die, as I usually lose the smallest fishes in the batch, but 10 days later they are all well.
They are very active and seem to enjoy swimming together. I added a cucumber slice and it looks like it got partially eaten, although I never saw any fishes near it. Overall, they accepted dry food promptly (Dr Bassleer).
There is no way to infer their algae eating capabilities in quarantine, but they should make it to the main tank this weekend, since I haven't detected any signs of disease so far. Just out of curiosity, I added some plants that got unrooted from the main tank to this quarantine, and they had some algae on the older leaves. I want to say that after a few days the plants look cleaner, but that is probably just my imagination.
I tried to take some pictures, but as I said they are very active and won't stop a moment.
