Big Mistake

One or two of the LED’s on the light above my 37L Nano dropped out so I bought a new unit. My 60L Nano was looking a little dull so I installed the old unit from the 37L onto top of the 60L in addition to the one already on it. Big mistake, plant growth has always been a bit of problem on both Nano’s - they grow so fast. The new light has put the moss in the 60L into overdrive. I’ve now got the chore of some large amounts of trimming to do. I still like the look of the extra light though …

I’ve got Anubias, small Anubias and mini Anubias growing well in that tank. Any tips for growing them out of water, is it difficult? I ask as I think I tried it once without success.

Hi all,
Any tips for growing them out of water, is it difficult?
I've never had much success with taking them from submerged to emersed, but sometimes <"they've grown above the water level"> naturally without <"any problem">.

Have a look at <"How to grow Anubias at home (several advices)"> originally linked in <"Anubias - how humid?">

They will be produced emersed (unless they are tissue cultured) commercially, but I'd guess under (relatively) low light and <"high humidity">.

Again I don't know but I would imagine that most Anubias barteri cultivars are produced by tissue culture now, and these would probably be the most difficult plants (<"1-2 GROW"> in vitro ones) <"to acclimatise"> to <"drier air">.

cheers Darrel
