Best way to clean glass C02 diffuser

Hi,

My glass C02 diffuser is looking a bit dirty. The ceramic plate has gone a brownish colour. I've tried to clean it but the ceramic plate won't clean up. Whats the best way to clean it?

Soak it in thin bleach, then water, then dechlorinater, works a charm.

I've had success soaking them in a Milton solution. Seems to work with killing off algae on things like drop checkers, rocks and power heads too.

Err...people,
Milton Solution = Sodium Hypochlorite (NaClO) = Bleach.

5 litres Milton Solution (internet price) = £16
5 litres Tesco Thin Bleach = 70p.

I guess that makes sense, I got me a bottle of Milton on Graham's advise when I was buying my Co2 setup from TGM. But as I bought the system from TGM suggests that I'm a little too free with my cash! (Note - the gf insisted that we had a "proper" Co2 so that we all didn't get gassed in our sleep... It was easier to spend the cash then convince her otherwise! 😉 )

Handy tip is that if you have a small plastic syringe (I use on e for measuring fertilizer) then you can force clean water (or dechlorinator) through to get rid of the bleach quicker, and you can also use it to force all the water out when you're finished so that it dries quicker.

nice tip with the syringe, thanks Mark.

I use a tooth brush dipped in the bleach and then rubbed over the diffuser... means you don't get the bleach everywhere.
