i found this locally in south africa, it grows submerged, looks and grows a bit like guppy grass, but the leaves are round and not blade like at all, what is it please?
It is a "Charophyte" - <"Charophyta - Wikipedia"> <"African Rivers">. It maybe a Nitella sp. <Nitella – microscopesandmonsters>.what is it please?
They are very interesting plants, Chara spp. are calcified, hence "Stonewort".Thanks Darrel! that looks like it! a stonewort
This algae is useful because it looks good. I think @dw1305 is right and it is Chara globularis.i found this locally in south africa, it grows submerged, looks and grows a bit like guppy grass, but the leaves are round and not blade like at all, what is it please?
