All, could somebody tell me what type of algae this is on my vallis?

Hi all,
Assuming that it is firmly attached to the leaf? it is probably "Staghorn Algae" (Compsopogon sp.).

I'd remove the worst leaves (cut them off right at the base). In low tech tanks it often occurs when you need to clean the filter. Have a look at <"James' Planted Tank - Algae Guide">.

Looks like BBA. Look at the 2nd picture on James' Planted Tank BBA pictures. So CO2 levels if high tech tank.

I can't decide from the picture which type it is, so I can work out best action. I'm not injecting co2 and my lighting is not high.

Could be other than BBA when studying a bit more, staghorn or even Oedogonium

Most appear to be related to low in carbon sources leading to plants dying and leaching organics feeding the algae.

What form of fertiliser and carbon source are you adding ?

That was pretty much the 3 options I thought about.

I think from the colour it is definitely a "Red Algae" (Rhodophyta), so either BBA or Stagshorn.

Thanks for your replies guys,
I am dosing with seachem flourish once a day, just over 1ml and putting in 10ml of easy carbo each AM.
I am looking into CO2 kits at the mo, do u think this would help?

My other plants seem to be unaffected.
