Ive been struggling with this for hours now and I just cant wrap my head around what I need to do 😵
I have stock solutions for traces that were made using the IFC calculator.
These solutions last a while, so I have previously made adjustments to the amount of stock solution used, based on how many ppm I want to add in a particular batch.
(I just multiply or divide both by the same number, thus making sure the gram amount doesnt change in the IFC)
Until now I have only done this for the main tank, so the ppm per dose, dose size, total volume of fert and tank volume have all been the same from batch to batch.
But now I want to use these stock solutions for a much smaller aquarium. There is a change to ppm, dose size, total volume of fert and tank volume 😵
And I just cant work out how to adapt the numbers so I can use the same stock solutions
I think I might need to just forget about the main tank, and pretend I made these stock solutions for the small tank.
But im terrible with percentages, could a kind someone hold my hand through working out how much to add?
If I get the formula for just one of them I should be able to do the rest myself (I think).
Stock solution 1:
Zn 14% EDTA, 8.5 gram in 500 ml
Stock solution 2:
H3BO3 (Boric Acid), 6.81 gram in 500 ml
Stock solution 3:
Cu 14% EDTA, 3.401 gram in 200 ml
Stock solution 4:
(NH4)6Mo7O24 · 4H2O, 0.876 gram in 200 ml
Stock solution 5:
NiSO4 · 6H2O, 0.5331 gram in 500 ml
The small tank details:
Tank volume 40 liter
Dose size 5 ml daily (a weekly dose would be 35 ml, if that makes it easier to work out)
Fert volume 300 ml
Wanting a weekly amount of (or in other words, 35 ml should add;
0,014 ppm Zn
0,014 ppm B
0,00425 ppm Cu
0,00425 ppm Mo
0,00005 ppm Ni
Hope someone can help this poor feeble-minded moomin 🤕🙏
