For the x10 rule is just a simple as buying a koralia with whatever lph I need? I will be putting the co2 diffuser under the powerhead to distribute...

    leaking JBL cristalprofi

Hi guys, I have been out of the planted tank scene for around 8 months. (Pregnant other half and a baby boy). I give my ADA 60p a full going over as nothing had been touched for months. Filled up after a good scrub and clean of everything. I now have a leak coming from my filter where the...

    Too much flow??

Hi all I have a 200 litre tank with 2 filters running, total flow is around x15 turnover with a JBL e1500 lph, and Eheim that runs 1000lph. The Eheim has a reactor running through it with FE as CO2, My question is does both filters have to be running 24/7? Surely the x10 turnover is for when...

    Enough flow?

Hi Bob, What size tank do you have mate? How much flow you'll need will depend on a few factors, volume, stocking, heavily planted?? ect. You will want to get your x10 turnover, so for example if it's a 200 litre tank then you will want 2000 lph of flow. The Fluval will give you 1300lph, the...

is an old reef filter ok for planted?

Hi all  I have just purchased a Eheim 2080 secondhand, the filter used to be used on a marine tank. What i'd like to know is would this be ok on a planted tank? It has no media and i have replaced the pipes from the filter, the intake and outtake as i wasn't a fan of the Eheim green. Was...

180L tank... 1 filter.... but what?

Hi I'd personallty go with spray bar mate as far as out goes. If your using your atomizer get the bar extended along the back wall of the tank, facing straight out to flow against and down the front of tank. Toad

    Eheim 2128 or Fluval FX5

 .... Good find LD maybe tempted at this myself. I'd have to agree with Matt, get the FX5 working alongside the Eheim. I take it you don't like equiptment in the tank hence the heater. This way you maybe able to get both powerheads out of the tank and have plenty of flow. Toad

    Aquamanta EFX300 Review

Hi Matt. What's the latest mate? Still running superbly?.... Got two of the 400's on the xmax list. Just wondering if it's still the way to go???

    Just a quicky!!

Hi Dan, For a 112ltr tank you should be looking to try and get around at least 1100lph of flow. The Eheim has 650lph, whereas the tt ex700 has 700lph. The flow can always be raised by the addition of a powerhead. Really depends on what your goal is......... Answer to the question i would go for...

Suggest a wavemaker pump for my tank please.

Glank what is your budget mate? Have you thought about sticking another filter in there (external), you'd boost your flow rate up, and with a spray bar you would get the gentle movement you desire. If a filter is too pricey then i'd go for a koralia, i know they're a bit pricey too but they are...
