The fungus on the wood in the 125 is starting to die off eventually and we have stocked some lovely little critters in there. A lot of the plants are starting to do well so all is good there. Some pics attached from the 125 .The 450 low tech is doing well and the bolbitis seems to be doing “ok”...

Yes that 180 of hers is absolutely amazing in my opinion and this was our inspiration for this mini version of it. Although she is lucky where she is having great wel water which is perfect for it but we are running CO2 as out water is pretty nasty in comparison.

Wow 400 gallons that’s bigtime! this tank is 120 US gallon or 100 uk gallons so I’ll be prepared for 2kg every 3-4 weeks that’s no worries

Co2 consumption is not a big issue I’m shutting down two other large cichlid tanks at the moment 350&450 litres so I’ll be saving some running costs there from heating lights etc. and I can justify my hobby costs as I don’t spend in the pub

I’ve had water lettuce and frogbit a while ago in one of my 350 litre cichlid tanks and nitrates were noticeably lower than other tanks before weekly water changes up to 10ppm lower than same size tank with same/ similar stocking levels
