Quick update: Everything is growing in nice and slow. Had to trim back the Cardamine a couple of times already. Dosing ADA Brighty Mineral and Neutral K from day 1. Had a tiny bit of diatoms last week, but disappeared almost same day after adding ottos and amanos. So far I'm really pleased...

Hey there! Yeah I still check in from time to time :) The Solar RGB only has on or off, no intensity settings. I usually start out with 6 hours and adds an additional 15 min every week until a total time of 8 hours is reached.

Thanks! Yeah, the dimensions opens up a lot more options than a regular 60P without having to go crazy with the amount of hardscape/substrate like a 120P requires. Scape is currently doing a 'dark start'

I think 6 months is where most scapes peak. After that I like to experimenting a bit. See how much I can trim a plant and stil recover, how lean I can dose or try new plants or hardscape combos. Valuable lessons for the next scape. Currently only dosing 1ml of Tropica Specialized 2x week...

In vitro rhizome plants are very sensitive to ammonia burn/melts. Adding to new tank is almost guaranteed to fail unfortunately

Well my experience says othervise. Both from owning a ES-600 and using it on several 90P setups and seing result from others - here are some examples to show what I mean Here's some of my own layouts:

I found that especially in vitro Buces don't like new setups, probably very sensitive to ammonia burn in that state. Regarding the exact species, Aquaflora is not able to confirm that its in fact the '2011' variant. They will try and analyze it though. Any shops claiming it is 2011 are doing so...

At this point it's impossible to tell since all the growth is very small and in its emersed state. Buces doesn't really show its coloration until it has adopted to submerged state, in my experience

I've seen those as well. This one is part of a super limited batch from Aquaflora. They retails for around 35€ if you can find some. Really interested to see how it turns out, as the cup has around 30+ of small leaves

I usually start with 6 hours and then add an extra 20 min for each week that passes, until reaching a total of 8 hour photoperiod. As for dosing, I usually wait two weeks before I start when using nutrient rich soil. If you're using ADA ferts I would just stick with Mineral and Neutral K.

Basically, it was done out of pure practicality. Tropica ferts is a all in one solution and is provided to me. I knew the ADA substrates were very rich in nutrients, so I was curious to see how litle liquid dosing would be sufficient.

Sure, what species wouldnt benefit from having more room, I won't pretend otherwise. That being said, they do inhabit very shallow puddles or slow moving creeks out in the wild

Had some in my 60 before and they do not appreciate flow AT ALL, so this no filter setup have had no deaths, or diseases for 1,5 year thus far :)

Just subtle details. This stone type has the most character I've seen, and every piece seems to tell a story. Probably will have to wait a couple of weeks before planting. Stuff like this is what I get to enjoy in the meantime

Usually I pump into buckets, then use it to water houseplants and the garden. Then I just run a long line straight from my RO unit into the tank and remineralize about one third with tap water

MC is just one of those bulletproof plants - grows with without light, same goes for Co2, it grows really slow in this setup though, which is nice for maintenance

A look behind the scenes. This soil has been going and growing for almost 1,5 year, no additional ferts needed. Tropica root tabs were added during the minor re-scape recently tho.

There's almost 10 chili rasboras whose been living there for the total duration of one and a half year. Breeding colony of RCS

No additional ferts added. I've added some root tabs twice over the one and a half year duration the soil been going. A bit of trimming is required, especially eleocharis montevidensis seems to spread, so I just pull it or cut it all the way to substrate level where I don't want it :)

These days it's water change every 14 days or so and top off of evaporation every 3 days (there's a very limited amount of water, so it goes quickly). Once substrate has cycled, it becomes very easy to care for. With my latest rescape I just added a couple of substrate tabs from Tropica and saw...
