Hi.. I remember reading through ur threads when I was having issues with my frogbits and I think we did converse too.
Anyway my frogbits looked almost like what u have shown in your pics. And it was not due to flow related issues. It was definitely nutrient based. As far as micros are...
Rotala can be kept short by constant trimming. But it is gonna be a pain trimming it because of its high growth rate. And it really does look better as a background plant. And as it closer to the light the red ones really light up. You could try bacopa species. Might suit your needs.

I have been researching this topic quite extensively these past few weeks and from the discussions held till now it looks like most experts agree that co2 misting using a diffuser is better than a inline reactor. Tom Barr recommends it and Amano uses it. There s some consensus that microbubbles...
They may be limpets as dw1305 suggested. But I cannot say for sure whether they r ostracods or limpets based on pics. Anyway looks like both r not reasons to get alarmed. I was worried whether they be some sort of parasite. Anyway a big thanks to all of u for ur kind response.. Very very helpful...

It's a beautiful setup and seriously awesome for a first attempt. The wood placement is great. So dontb worry. Just decide at height u wanna trim. Since they r background plants u wud wanna be able to c them from the front. So u can probably trim when they reach a couple of inches from the rim...
I agree with Xim. Ferropol does not contain nitrates and phosphates. Only Trace elements. And how tall is ur tank..

From the looks of it the plants in the pics don't seem to be doing well. Especially the older leaves. And the dark patches look like GSA to me. Now my advise to u is this.. do not try and fight the algae. Try and keep ur plants healthy. That s the key. I have had several types of algae hit my...
Wat r ur nitrates and phosphate levels.. pls take a full shot of the tank. If u r using liquid macros and then plants r not showing improvement may be there s some other problem which s preventing utilisation of NPK. Full tank specs including type of substrate and filters pls.

Wow.. I like the way the substrate has been done in clean fashion and also the wave like effect. Driftwood looks awesome. Plant distribution could be altered a bit.
Anyway key to low tech is the light. Think ur lights r 27 watts and it's a 32 gallon tank. I know wpg is crude. But it seems to be...
