Hi all,

I'm pretty new to planted tanks so am learning as I go. I'm about two weeks in to my scape and so far have had no problems but today I spotted this in the front right corner of my tank.

I had a good look around and couldn't see any more but is it some kind of algae? My guess is it probably is but what's the best course of action? Let it develop and then fade away? I've read of people doing that.

Or should I does easycarbo or some kind of algaecide? I have no fauna yet.

Tank is an ADA 60-P
2 x T5 24W on for 8 hours (soon to be reduced)
CO2 also on for 8 hours
Filter is a rena xp 2 which should be 1100lph
Ferts are ADA green bright stage 1

Thanks

Rob

Dont worry. It happens is almost all new tanks.
Some Amanos, snails will get rid of it. If you dont like it, siphon it out.

Hi, I've been getting the same just recently in my nano tank. It has been running a few months now and I putti down to it being a new setup. I'm hoping it will disappear on its own. In the meantime I'm doing a 50% water change twice a week and siphoning it out.
