hello, today i just switched on the lights noticed that my Rotala rotundifolia was showing signs of deficiency on the some of the new growth in the form of scrunched up leaves
i have been dosing tropica specialised fertilizer at 0.6ml a day is this maybe to little? the tank has been set up for 1 week only.
aquarium:
16litre
Co2 is high and so is Flow
lighting is high .
substrate is aqua soil amazonia
Using Ro Water
TDS:130ppm
GH:4
KH:2

as you can see the top leaves are scrunched up,

dosed 1ml today, but still unsure as to what the cause might be

anyone have any idea as to what it may be???

Hi try dosing 1ml for now see if it perks up. I'm no expert as I'm still learning a lot myself. But it also could be just getting used to it's new environment. Cheers lee

So with ADA As set up a week the ferts shouldn't be an issue
Using RO water can make it difficult to get a pH reading and monitor CO2 levels via pH pen
High lighting and only a week old tank is asking for trouble.
High CO2 and flow! how are you accessing this a Drop checker is turning yellow and are the plants wafting about in the flow?

The most likely candidate is poor CO2 implementation in combination with high light IMO.

Could do with more details of your equipment, light and your CO2 system, photoperiod etc etc and full tank picture

Looks like lack of calcium, could be especially as you are using RO. How are you hardening your water and what with ?

Any Magnesium being added via Epsom salts?

Lack of magnesium usually causes yellowing of leaves, similar to lack of iron. However as magnesium is mobile in the plant, unlike iron, the plant will recover once magnesium is supplied.

remineralising with salty shrimp aquarium mineral gh:4 kh:2

not adding magnesium as I'm using a comprehensive fertiliser, should i be dosing mg ? even though I'm using a comprehensive liquid fertiliser (tropica specialised)

Yeah, you should really mate Tropica has very little and 99% of UK tapwater doesn't have any. Check your re-mineralising agent as that could have some maybe? On a side not, Tropica is very low as dosing goes especially nitrate so don't be afraid of dosing a lot more than they recommend. Most people find that the amount you have to dose changing to dry salts becomes more economical especially if your light is as bright as you say.

Having said all that, you're using ADA soil which is packed full of nutrients when new so chances are you should be fine for now but defo give the magnesium a try or only dilute your tapwater down with the RO. I tend to find when people use remin RO there's always "something" missing.

Does not contain potassium or magnesium, which will be required if you are using CO2 and high light. Lack of potassium will also cause curled leaves, I didn't mention before as I thought you were supplying potassium, which I now know specialised doesn't contain.

There you go, could either add pottasium nitrate to kill two birds with one stone or just pottasium sulphate. Once the ADA soil wears off you'll probably end up on the Nitrate. Tropica is very weak at recommended doses. Look up rotala butterfly that shows you what each dose consists of compared to say EI quantities.
