Weired looking sponge

Every so often I find this growing in the darker regions of my tanks sometimes attached sometimes just growing by itself . It looks sort of coral like with tiny shoots coming from its edges and is very soft. Doesn't seem to cause any issues and the shrimp graze on it from time to time. Any ideas what it might be.

I can't tell from the photo, but it maybe a <"freshwater Bryozoan">.
