Hi hugs. I was reading through some of the diy posts and thought I'd add a couple of simple things I had done. 1st one Is for water changes. I added a pump that's fits inside a 25l jerry can lid. In total I think this cost me around 15quid I did have a power supply and jerry can knocking around though. Parts needed are:
1 jerry can (25l)
1 piece of hosing (your choice. Hose pipe size I believe)
1 standard whalepump (very cheap. I got mine from go outdoors about 10pound)
1 power supply.
It's simply a case of push fit pipe to the outlet of pump then join wires from your chosen power supply to the pump. Put it into your jerry can other end into your tank and away you go. No more heavy lifting and splashing water my other idea was just resend (this morning)
I was looking at getting a power head for the tank as it's deep and not much circulation at the bottom. While having a look around I found a pump that came with a small tank from pets at home. I cut a small hole in the filter side and put my co2 line in there. So I get circulation and a way of defusing my co2 into the water win win. I'll put some pics up of my simple handy work. These things have probably already been done but I thought I'd just share my little bit with you guys for a cheap solution. Thanks iain
