That’s very kind of you! I’ve cable tied a £10 plant grow light to the old light since which is doing the job for now. I’d definitely be interested in hearing your thoughts on the lights though? It sounds like you’ve had a few. I’m in Edinburgh.
Not a problem, I'm only over in Dunfermline so not too far away, if you fancy trying one of them just PM me.
Aqual Leddy - This was my first ever light, cheap and cheerful and worked nicely on my small tank with low light plants, was used on 40x25x25cm tank.
Twinstar 60B - I have two of these not in use, my first time being able to control my lighting, was used on a 60x35x35 tank and a 60x30x30cm tank.
Chihiros WRGB II Slim - Still in use, my first (and so far only) foray into Chihiros, pleasing rendition, solid app. Is used in a 90x40x40cm tank.
Week Aqua P600 Pro - I have two of these but only one is in use, great rendition, app isn't as polished as Chihiros but still does the job, far more power than I'll ever need, 180mm deep so it can throw out a wide spread, the value of these lights seems crazy for the specs. Is used in 60x35x35cm tank.
Week Aqua Z250 Pro - I have two of these, they aren't in use yet. Should be similar colour rendition etc as the P series but with less power although hardly lacking at 75w each. Not an LED strip light so the distribution will vary and it will have a shimmer effect. These will both be used on my 120x50x50cm tank that I'm setting up.
I need to start listing some of my stuff for sale as I currently own 8 lights and only 2 are in use right now. I would like to try the Twinstar E IV but I'm also probably playing an expensive game of trying lots of different units because I keep talking myself out of my endgame. I love the colour rendition of ADA and I love the unit aesthetics of Skylight Hyperspot. I don't actually need super high power light, I've yet to venture beyond easy/medium plants and 10-20ppm CO2, I care most about the colour rendition, the visual aesthetics of the actual light unit itself (for me it's like furniture) and the app/control
🙂
