urea

Good morning,
I would like to dose urea in my 240L aquarium, about 200l useful. My nitrate level is 5ppm and phosphate 0.4ppm.
I can dose how many daily ppm of urea. The tank is inhabited by red nose tetras and lemon tetras.

I can dose how many daily ppm of urea.

We just don't know, it will depend on how quickly the urea (CO(NH2)2) is <"converted to ammonia"> and the pH of the tank, which will define what <"form the TAN takes">.

Have a look at <"Two faced tank">, recently @LMuhlen had a bit if an accident with his fertilisers and over-dosed urea, and the rest of the thread explains what happened.

I think you can definitely try a bit more. I'll add in @Zeus.

If don't see any appreciable <"growth or greening">? The nitrogen is <"probably not your issue">.

@kobain72 you may find some of your answers on this thread #20 where we have talked bit about the Urea. I have been using urea for decade now and i can say that Urea is fairly safe to play with compared to other Ammonium based Compounds. 0.13 ppm Urea is fairly low depending on the plant mass, just to clarify which calculator are you using to determine the Urea ppm ? I usually calculate N for urea which would result in 0.13 N Urea = 0.278 ppm Urea, see this.

I dose 0.13N of urea.
