Hi everyone,

Last night we created the UKAPS Instagram account, the idea is to showcase some of the aquascapes that are shared on UKAPS Forums.

This will be managed to start with by the UKAPS Admins.

There is a link in the Links menu and also you can just click this link: UK Aquatic Plant Society (@ukapsforum) is on Instagram

More content will be posted on a regular basis.

Cheers

Quick update...
UKAPS Instagram page has just passed 1500 followers. Another small but significant milestone on our wonderful forums journey.
Thanks to all those who have followed us there and for all the likes and comments 🙌
Remember to follow UKAPS on Instagram if you haven't already 🙂

Probably banned because we’re not extreme enough!

I don't have an account there, so I couldn't open it to see if it's still active. But with an unrelated Google search I saw there is/was/has been a UKAPS X account.

I'd say association with that platform is counter to the mission and goals of UKAPS. And as an American I have to say I just hate X and don't agree with UKAPS involvement there.

Bluesky would be a better alternative to the newly unmoderated Meta madness of Instagram.

It's not just the dismantle of moderation. Meta and every other tech giant brought to heel will specifically be leveraged to brainwash, surveil, intimidate and brutalize Americans and whoever else they can reach.

"You hate him. Good. Then the time has come for you to take the last step. You must love Big Brother. It is not enough to obey him: you must love him."

Hi all, I manage the ukaps social media accounts now and I have to say I will not post on X because I hate it there. I might consider blue sky if it's a decent place to post and you think there will be interest! I've never used it before. At the moment I'm just cross-posting on Facebook and Instagram, as that's where we have the biggest followings.

The purpose of the social media posts are to showcase journals, encourage people to learn about planted tanks and to use/join the forum. I'm not doing much more than that, basically because my time is limited. Hope you understand.
If you want, you can have a look at recent posts on our Facebook and Instagram.

If you see a journal you think we should feature on our socials, drop me a message! We're approaching 3k pretty active Instagram followers and have 20k on Facebook, although it's less active 🙂)

Edited for spelling**

If you are a UKAPS member that uses Instagram, tag your photos with hashtags ukaps & ukapsforum which will be easier for us to share some stuff on stories too! 😉
Ps this is still very true! I've changed the tagged post settings so you no longer need approval to tag us. Instead I'm manually sorting through, as we had a huge backlog of attempted tags!

Give us a tag @ukapsforum and I will find you 🙂
