Tips on prunning Pogostemon erectus

I have a clump of Pogostemon erectus in my tank that is doing really well and the time has come to prune it but I am a bit worried it will wont look right.It's the first time I have had to prune it and do not know how it will grow back.Any advice gratefully received.

I have read that but was wondering if I cut the tops of will the stems will the plant sprout 2 more tops as most plants do or will it just bush out and keep the flat top.

Yes, it follows the typical pattern, wherever you cut, it branches form at the next node below the cut.
