I once red the origine of thanks giving and it seems to be of Dutch/Irish origine.. In a nutshell: Some Irish priest or something where chased out off Ireland, they ended up and setlled in Holland and from there they took off with a group to the New World. After arriving, they were very well recieved, well treated and kinda saved and fed with Turkey's by the local natives where they landed. And to remember this day, Thanks Giving was born.
In a way they forgot the natives, since only the Turkey is praised, by putting it in the oven..
