Terrestrial moss identification!

Based on a quick glance through my Swedish book on mosses, some kind of Eurhynchium sp. maybe? Mosses are pretty tricky though, looking completely different depending on growing conditions.

Hi all,
A long shot...
You really need a <"microscope photo (photomicrograph) of a leaf (microphyll)"> showing the cell structure and whether the leaf has a nerve etc.
some kind of Eurhynchium sp. maybe?
Definitely could be. If it is a UK seller Eurhynchium striatum & Kindbergia (Eurhychium) praelonga are both really common. It could also be an Amblystegium or Brachythecium sp. etc. Really common ones are A. serpens and B. rutabulum.
Sold as live Sphagnum moss!
Um....... not a lot that you can say <"Sphagnum moss | The Wildlife Trusts"> , other than "can I have my money back?"

cheers Darrel

What, again! .........😳😱😉

Hi all,
What, again!
Again.

To give some context for "Again", @GHNelson and I have been engaged in a conversation about the exact nature of a plant for sale as a "variegated Bolbitis heudelotii" . Without going into all the details it ended up not being B. heudelotii and Graham ended up with his money back.

To cut some slack for the vendor the plant did at least look superficially like B. heudelotii, and they have removed it from sale, where as this moss looks about as far from Sphagnum as you could possibly get and still be a moss.

cheers Darrel
