All Sphagnum spp. looks a bit different, a lot "puffier", because of the hyaline cells.

Are you in the Outer Hebrides Allan? If you are you should find you have a really good range of mosses and liverworts. The BBS do an excellent photo-guide "Mosses and Liverworts of Britain and Ireland: A Field Guide [Paperback]"

That is about the only moss that I can ID from a photo, and that is only because it is a really common one in woods.
