Spawning behaviour in DNR's ?

Hi,
I have had my dwarf neon rainbowfish for a week now in a newly cycled planted tank. Today, after doing some routine filter maintenance I noticed what I think was spawning behaviour. The largest of the males was chasing one of the females around and then she stopped and he was 'sidling up to her' and they were both sort of shimmying next to one and other, then the next biggest male came along and muscled in between them and the bigger male chased him off. Is this spawning behaviour ? I am amazed because I have hardly had my hands out of the tank this week and they have actually been quite shy.
