Soft water set up?

I am looking to do a low light planted tank and have found via my local Scottish Water quality website that my area is soft water.

I want to avoid adding any chemicals unless necessary, is that doable with SW?

What fish/inverts would be good for a soft water set up?

And do I have to worry about using certain plants in a soft water set up?

You'll manage fine. Most 'easy' plants do ok in most water conditions. My water also v soft, to add a bit of hardness i put a spoonful of oyster shell grit in the filter. I have no idea about levels and avoid the chemistry set approach if i can. Buy some things, plant them. See what grows. Simple
