Hi everyone,

I am currently setting up an aquascaper 900 and plan on re using my ada aquasoil (only 10 months old).
however I did get a bit of java moss stuck into some of the soil in my old tank and want to guarantee that my new tank doesn't get any java moss infesting the substrate again!

I have 3 options which I am considering at the moment and would like some others advice please

1. Buy new aquasoil, however this will cost around £100

2. Buy 2 bags of aquasoil, use old substrate at the bottom of the tank, and new to cap the old stuff of. (surely java moss wouldn't grow through 4cm of new substrate if it is capped and doesn't have access to any light?). i have manually removed pretty much all of the java moss anyway, but i know it can grow from nothing.

3. Try and bake the aquasoil so and kill it with heat before putting it into the tank (this would be the cheapest option).

Please let me know what you think!
