Hi All

I have recently purchased some red moor wood and introduced it to my tank, however after being in there a couple of days it seems to have developed a film a couple of mm thick of almost clear goo all over it (sorry for the awful description) i'll try and sort a pic out but in the mean time is there any obvious ideas what this may be or why it may have appeared? Nothing else in the tank is affected whatsoever except this wood

Very common with newly submerged wood, it's a fungus/mould of some sort, which will continue growing for a few weeks until the readily available nutrients in the wood are exhausted. Shrimp and I think otos will happily munch on this.

Harmless as far as I'm aware.

Aye, nothing to worry bout. If you don't like it, take out and boil for 30 mins. That will get rid.
