I use a syringe with a 10cm blunt needle for dosing liquids into the tank. Being a blunt needle I have not managed to stab myself yet but early days 😀

I personnally use 1mL insuline syringe. You can remove the needle with pliers, but be careful when you do it.

Also you can make your own magnetic algae scraper with neodymium magnet and a roll of velcro. The only issue is that neodymium is pretty fragile.

Ceramic media rings (the white ones) make pretty good planting weights.

That's a method l use for stems, you can move them about or even transfer to another aquarium easily and as long as you don't cram too many in ,they should grow just fine
