Im pretty sure the answer is no but can you grow riccia submerged with no co2 or liquid carbon, full low tech tank ?

Old thread but ive gained a huge bag of riccia from a tank in my local store after a trim. Would i be able to grow this low tech at all?
Plan was to hair net it over branches to create a small tree

It grows like mad in a kind of pond I have in my terrace (just a 60 liters plastic container), floating or emersed. No co2, no filter, no maintenance...

Cheers pal
I've got two huge handfuls for just 5 golden nuggets, it will be going in my 260 next week but currently floating safely in my nano until i get to work on it
