How do I get the above wood to sink I've tried boiling it

it can take a few weeks or sometimes longer to become fully waterlogged, a rock or two on top to hold it down works well, or drill and screw a piece of slate to the bottom, slate can then be hidden under the substrate.

It's a nightmare I have some in my tank it's been there 2 month and still floats .. Firstly for a couple of week weighed it down with rock then I put a lump of rock on it behind some plants
I keep trying to remove the small bit of rock but still it tries slowly rising
The rock is far to the left behind the hydro
