Only recently found this gorgeous little plant when buying some in vitro pots from Pro Shrimp and I love it, so cute but lots of character. I was slow to add it to the tank so in the end i superglued it to a shelf and its doing great. I dont have any CO2 in the tank so its staying green but im well impressed with this little beauty...

It looks amazing. According to the Dennerle website it's a rare plant and quite a difficult one to keep. It's now on my wish list! I would love to hear how you go on with it and any tips about cultivation.

Hi all,
According to the Dennerle website it's a rare plant and quite a difficult one to keep
It grows right up into Canada <"Proserpinaca palustris (marsh mermaid-weed): Go Botany">, so it must be pretty cold tolerant. I'd try it with lots of light and nutrients. I'm guessing it is a plant that will grow better in harder, more alkaline water as well?

I wonder if some of the issues are in getting it to grow submerged leaves again, once it has formed emergent leaves? It would presumably grow well in a terrarium situation, but you would have the simple aerial leaves, rather than the spiky submerged ones.

cheers Darrel
